Scott Swinsburg

I’ve lost 138 pounds in 14 months and I feel great.

Hi,

My name is Scott Swinsburg. You see, a little over 14 months ago, I was in a very bad and dark place in my life. I hate people who sit around and feel sorry for themselves. I hate people who say "I hate my life and there is nothing I can do to change it." And for a few week period in August/September of 2013 (because of a personal situation in my life), I turned into that person. Thankfully I realized it. I knew I had to do something. I figured let me change one thing about my life to make me stop feeling how I was feeling. I needed something to focus on. One look in the mirror told me what that was.

I have been overweight basically all my life. I honestly didn’t care if I was or wasn’t. It was just me. I really didn’t think about it that much. Of course I did at times. When I would get teased in school, or struggled to find clothes in my size or wondered if I could fit in a seat or not. But, other than that, I didn’t. It was just who I was and I accepted it. But, as I got bigger and bigger through the years, I knew one day I would have to address it or I would die or be handicapped. I didn’t bury my head in the sand. I knew the consequences. I was just to lazy to do anything about it. I thought about doing something for years leading up to last year. But, anyway...on Friday, September 6th, 2013 I finally decided I had enough. I said to myself that September 7th, 2013 would be the first day of a journey that I wouldn’t look back from. I made no goals about how much weight I wanted to lose. I just said, I’m changing my life and not looking back.

Now, it’s a little over 14 months later. I weighed in on day one at 356 pounds. I honestly had no idea how much I weighed. I never weighed myself in my life. I bought a scale that went up to 550 pounds. Most people will think I’m crazy but when I looked at the scale and saw 356 pounds I thought the scale was wrong because that was too low! I do think I weighed more in 2012 by looking at pictures but I’ll never know. Now it’s a little over 14 months later and I weigh 218 pounds. While that is still "obese" to some people, it’s amazing to me. I’ve lost 138 pounds in 14 months and I feel great.

How did I do it? Well, I changed my diet (eliminated processed sugar & other junk food and watched my calorie intake, etc). I started walking and going to the gym occasionally. But, the first thing I did was buy the DDPYoga DVD set. It’s funny as I am a huge pro wrestling fan and I’ve actually met Diamond Dallas Page three times in my life (all before I started doing DDPYoga). I bought the first YRG DVD set years ago but it collected dust and I never used it. But, when I decided to change my life, I knew I would give DDPYoga a try (and seeing Arthur Boorman’s video on youtube definatly inspired me!). I have done a DDPYoga workout every single day since 9-17-13. When I tell people this, I know they must think yoga, really? All I can say is it works. Unless you are severely handicapped, anyone can do DDPYoga. Sure, you can’t do everything you see in the workouts. But there are modifications for every move. I suggest anyone reading this who wants to work out but doesn’t want to run on a treadmill or do Insanity!/P90x workouts or something like that. Give DDPYoga a try. There is minimal joint impact. It helps you lose weight, build strength and muscle. I work in a factory, 12 hour shifts, on hard floors. I used to be sore all over by the end of the night. I’m not sore at all anymore. If you stick with it, you will be amazed at how much better you will feel for doing it. All I can say for sure is it works, bottom line. I honestly cannot imagine DDPYoga not being a part of my life now. I’m so glad I decided to own my life. BANG!
